Tips for Home or Office Buildings:
- Throw away garbage and recycle (keep your kitchens clean)- Seal all food in tight containers as well as clean up any spills or opened unsealed bags or boxes.
- Keep your house clean of clutter especially paper products (newspapers, magazines, scattered paper)
- Keep your exterior of your house well maintained. Repair any leaky plumbing and open cracks at foundation, mortar at window seals.
- Install door sweeps or thresholds at the base of all exterior doors.
At EES, our key to IPM is you, the homeowners, or business and the use of programs that identify pest problems before they start. EES uses less toxic pesticides using borate based products, botanicals, and many other eco-friendly products. These products are less toxic and more effective than standard chemical pesticides as well as more economical.
Tips for Mosquito Problems:
- Remove any excess standing water. Puddles, old pet bowls, bird baths, planters, etc from your yard. Use the appropriate methods and products to keep mosquitoes out of your pond.
- Keep your home a barrier and keep it safe. Make sure your windows and doors leading to outside have screens on them and do not have holes.
- Stay inside during peak mosquito hours: Dusk and early morning
- Protect yourself while outside. Do not wear perfume or other scented products. Wear long-sleeved shirts and pants.
- Use a repellent.
